
Lydia Lee
Applied Music - Piano, Dept. Accompanist
Lydia Youn C. Lee, a piano faculty member at College of
the Canyons, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from
University of Southern California with a major in Piano
Performance, with Dr. Stewart Gordon, and minors in Music
History, Music Education, and Electro-Acoustic. Additionally,
Dr. Lee has received a Master of Music degree from U.S.C. in
Piano Performance. She started her musical training at a young
age and continued through Seoul Art School in Korea.
Dr. Lee has received recognition for her playing in many concert
halls as a concert pianist, chamber music performer, synthesizer
performer, and accompanist. She has performed four solo piano
recitals in the Los Angeles area, as well as with the USC
Wood-Wind Quintet. Her various appearances in choir concerts as
an accompanist, include performances at Ebell Theatre, Wilshire
United Methodist Church. Dr. Lee has also been a pianist for
musical shows such as “Big River’” at the Epic Center of College
of the Canyons and “Libby” at Cinegrill Theatre of Hollywood.
She has been teaching piano, keyboards, accompaniment, music
theory, and piano literature for more than 10 years. In
addition, she has been directing and arranging music for church
choirs and programming sequence of synthesizer.
Dr. Lee is a member of PI KAPPA LAMBDA (National Music Honor
Society), and Music Teachers Association of California.
