This year’s clinic brings us an exciting group of speakers from right here in the Southland. We start the day with former College of the Canyons student-athlete and Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Cal State Fullerton University, Greg Vandermade. Greg will talk about designing programs for various Division I intercollegiate sport teams. Next up is strength coach and author Chad Waterbury to talk about neuroscience-based training. Chad is the director of strength and conditioning at the legendary Rickson Gracie International Jiu-Jitsu center in Los Angeles and his Book Men’s Heath Huge in a Hurry was recently released by Rodale books. We have the great fortune to have renowned NHL strength coach Sean Skahan talking about off-season training for his hockey athletes. Sean and his Anaheim Duck won the Stanley Cup in 2007! I am pleased to have my good friend and one of Los Angeles’ premiere personal trainers, Valerie Waters as a speaker at this year’s clinic. Valerie has been called “Hollywood’s Hottest Trainer” by U.S. Weekly magazine and has a who’s who of celebrities that she gets into amazing shape for their roles. Valerie will talk about the ins-and-outs of training the Hollywood clientele. Lastly, we have long time strength and conditioning specialist Ken Vick spending some time with us to talk about the differences between training for sport performance versus training for combine performance. Ken trains hundreds of athletes at his Velocity Sports Performance facility in the South Bay including many professional and aspiring pros whom he trains for the NFL combines.

As always, We are confident that you will walk away with an arsenal of training exercises that you can immediately put to use in your own programs. We hope you will join us for this one of a kind clinic and support Cougar Strength and College of the Canyons in this 100% fundraising event.
