Welcome from the Dean
Welcome to the Division Web site of Science, Mathematics, and
Engineering Technologies at the College of Canyons. As the incoming dean
of the division, I am proud of what we have to offer, and delighted that
you are interested in learning more about us.
We offer a variety of courses to serve every student, regardless of
their educational plan. Our small class sizes, state-of-the-art
laboratory facilities and qualified faculty prepare students for
transfer to a 4-year college or university, entrance into a
technical/occupational program, or pursuit of a Certificate program or
an Associate degree. Most courses are supported by tutoring services,
with emphasis on the use of technology to complement the learning
process. Here, you'll find a dynamic group of friendly, talented
faculty ready to communicate their enthusiasm for teaching and learning,
and to help you achieve your educational and career goals.
The disciplines of sciences, mathematics, engineering, and
engineering technologies are fundamental to many aspects of modern life
and the nation’s economy. As such, we are highly focused on serving the
needs of the community, state, and nation by providing quality programs
in an interdisciplinary environment. Our course offerings foster
academic excellence, and prepare our students to become scientists,
mathematicians, engineers and technologists that are highly skilled,
competent, and well prepared to enter professional careers in the public
and private sector. We have state-of-the-art facilities and math,
engineering, and science faculty members full of enthusiasm and energy. Our
students enjoy an atmosphere of camaraderie and collegiality with our
faculty and with each
other. I am very confident that our excellent faculty and staff will provide you a superb education as well
as personal support to realize your ambition.
