Welcome! Im happy to have you in this course. To learn algebra skills, you must do many
hours of practice just like learning to play the piano, baseball, etc. As a prerequisite, you are to have completed
Math 060, Elementary Algebra, with a grade of C or better.
You will have
five 1-hour
exams worth 50 points each. I will
replace your lowest score with half your final exam score (worth 100 points) if
that increases your total points. The
day after each exam, you will have a homework quiz consisting of 4 6 homework
exercises. You may use your homework to
copy your solutions onto the quiz sheet.
Each of the five homework quizzes is worth 5 points. In summary, your grade in the course will be
determined by your percentage of the total points possible in the class which
are:
Exams 250
Comprehensive
Final Exam 100

I use the
standard grading scale of 90% - A, 80% -89% - B, etc.
