There are a number of director positions available through student government. Each director is appointed by the ASG Senate and must be enrolled in at least six units and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. These are non-voting members of the Associated Student Government. Administrative Assistants

Administrative Assistants shall work closely with the Senate through the office for which they are appointed.

Assistant Editor of The Paw Print

The Assistant Editor shall be appointed by the Officer of Marketing & Information with the approval of the Student Senate and shall work closely with the Senate through the office Officer of Marketing & Information.

The duties of the Assistant Editor shall include:

• Assisting the Editor of Marketing & Information in the publishing of The Paw Print.

• Assisting the Officer of Marketing & Information in supervising the Staff Writers and Graphic Artist.

• Promoting student involvement.

• Assisting in all of the Association's sponsored events.

Director of Academic Affairs

The Director of Academic Affairs shall be appointed by the Executive Vice President and shall work closely through that office.  The Director of Academic Affairs shall assist the Executive Vice President in designing and publicizing scholarships and drafting, distributing, collecting, and processing applications.  The Director of Academic Affairs shall also assist the Executive Vice President with attending committees related to academic affairs in nature.

Director of Athletic Affairs

The Director of Athletic Affairs shall be appointed by the Student Involvement Coordinators and shall work closely through that office.  The Director of Athletic Affairs shall meet with the Dean of Physical Education and Athletics on a consistent basis and report back to the Student Senate.  The Director of Athletic Affairs shall assist the Student Involvement Coordinators in attending committees of a nature related to athletic affairs.  The Director of Athletic Affairs shall promote all College of the Canyons intercollegiate sports teams through The Paw Print and all other viable methods.  The Director of Athletic Affairs shall also organize no less than three intramural athletic programs per year representing the students' interests.

Director of Clubs & Organizations

The Director of Clubs & Organizations shall be appointed by the Vice President of the Inter Club Council with the approval of the Student Senate and shall work closely with the Senate through the office of Vice President of the Inter Club Council.

The Director of Clubs & Organizations shall be the recognized official representative of all duly organized on-campus student clubs, organizations, and societies.  As such, the Director of Clubs & Organizations shall serve as the alternate chair of the Inter Club Council.

Director of Cultural Affairs

The Director of Cultural Affairs shall be appointed by the Student Involvement Coordinators and shall work closely through that office.  The Director of Cultural Affairs shall be responsible for:

• Representing the cultural interests of the associated members.

• Helping to organize films and educational speakers.

• To be the student coordinator for college cultural events.

• Acting as the ASG liaison for arts and culture.

• Assisting the Student Involvement Coordinators in attending committees of a nature related to cultural affairs.

Director of Environmental Affairs

The Director of Environmental Affairs shall be appointed by the Student Involvement Coordinators and shall work closely through that office.  The Director of Environmental Affairs shall organize the annual ASG Earth Day, coordinate the recycling program, and assist the Student Involvement Coordinators in attending committees of a nature related to environmental affairs.

Director of Health Issues

The Director of Health Issues shall be appointed by the Student Involvement Coordinators and shall work closely through that office.  The Director of Health Issues shall coordinate health related activities on campus in conjunction with the Student Health Center and attend committees of a nature related to health issues.

Director of Legislative Affairs

The Director of Legislative Affairs shall be appointed by the Student Trustee and will work closely with the Senate through that office.  The Director of Legislative Affairs will prepare and assist the Student Trustee in attending conferences and committees related to legislative affairs.

Director(s) of Publicity

The Director(s) of Publicity shall be appointed by the Public Affairs Officer with the approval of the Student Senate and shall work closely with the Senate through that office.

The Director(s) of Publicity shall be responsible for:

• Writing columns and creating display ads.

• Making and distributing posters and signs to publicize events on and off campus, and disposing of outdated posters and signs.

• Keeping the Canyon Call informed of events.

• Accepting requests from and aiding clubs/organizations wanting to publicize their events on campus.

Director of Recruitment

The Director of Recruitment shall be appointed by the President and work closely with the Executive Board officers of the organization through the office of the President.

The Director of Recruitment shall be responsible for:

• Advertising open positions.

• Working with the President to forward submitted applications to the appropriate officer.

• Assisting the President in contacting the applicants to set up interviewing and keeping them informed of their application status.

• Informing applicants if they are ineligible for an ASG position.

Shared Governance Coordinator

The Shared Governance Coordinator shall be appointed by the Executive Vice President and work closely with the Executive Board officers of the organization through the office of the Executive Vice President.

The Shared Governance Coordinator shall be responsible for:

• Keeping track of all shared governance meetings of the Santa Clarita Community College District by creating and maintaining a shared governance meeting directory that is easily accessible to all ASG members.

• Assisting the Executive Vice President in finding students to sit on these shared governance committees.

• Coordinating with the Executive Vice President to seek out and hold individuals accountable for attending shared governance committee meetings and having them report back to the Executive Board.

Graphic Artist

The Graphic Artist shall be appointed by the Officer of Marketing & Information with the approval of the Student Senate and shall work closely with the Senate through that office.  The Graphic Artist shall be responsible for creating artwork and assisting with the layout of The Paw Print.

Historian

The Historian shall be appointed by the Officer of Marketing & Information with the approval of the Student Senate.  The Historian shall be responsible for creating a scrapbook for the Association for each academic year.

Photographer

The Photographer shall be appointed by the Officer of Marketing & Information with the approval of the Student Senate and shall work closely with the Senate through that office.

The duties of the Photographer are:

• To make a continuous photographic record of campus activities and events especially those pertaining to students and the A.S.G.

• To post photos and to maintain a file of negatives and an album of developed photographs.

• To work with the Historian with the development of photos for the scrapbook.

Staff Writers, The Paw Print

Staff writers for The Paw Print shall be appointed by the Officer of Marketing & Information and shall work closely with the Officer of Marketing & Information and the Senate as a contributing writer for The Paw Print.  He/she is required to submit at least one article per month.
