ATTENTION
STUDENTS
AUTOMATED ADD PROCEDURE
You may still enroll in classes for the first
two weeks of the fall and/or spring semester.
First, determine the status of your class:
Open Class:
Classes that have not reached their maximum seat capacity
remain open during the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters.
You can use the STAR telephone or on-line registration
systems to enroll. The
second week, all full-semester classes are closed and require
instructor permission to enroll.
Closed Class:
Once a class closes you may place yourself on a
waitlist before the semester begins, and attend the first class
meeting to obtain instructor permission to enroll.
You should also attend the first class meeting if you want to
add the class, but are not on a waitlist.
·
If the instructor agrees, he or she will fill out an
“Add Code Form” and issue a four-digit add code, which will be
listed at the top.
·
Access the STAR telephone or on-line registration
system and follow the instructions to add your class. You will be prompted to enter the four-digit code and then
you will be enrolled in the class.
·
The code can be used once and only once.
It cannot be used for any other section you are trying to
add.
·
You must use your add code before the add deadline has
passed. For full
semester classes, this is the end of the second week of the
semester. For
short-term classes, ask your instructor for the add deadline.
·
High School Students – must process their add
forms in-person, in the Admissions & Records office during
business hours as your courses must be approved by your high school.
After the Add Deadline:
After the add deadline, you must have
documented extenuating circumstances to add a class. Obtain a Late
Add Form and Petition to the Academic Standards Committee in
Admissions and Records. Board Policy 542 requires Late Add Forms
and Petitions be submitted before 50% of the semester or term has
passed. This deadline is the same as the withdrawal deadline
published each semester or term. We cannot accept any late add forms
and petitions after the deadline.
