COUNS 100 –Success Strategies for the Reentry Student |

This course has been created especially for
you, the returning adult student. The course is taught by
Professor Carolyn Powell, M.S., M.F.T., who is a generalist
and adult reentry counselor and is also a licensed Marriage
and Family Therapist. The course is transferable to the
California State University system, where it meets the general
education requirement in Area E. requirement for the Associate Degree here
at College of the Canyons. |
The course provides an exploration of
intellectual, psychological, social and the physical factors
that impact lifelong learning, well being, and success.
Topics include motivation & self efficacy, critical &
creative thinking, effective study strategies with children
underfoot, health & lifestyle choices, relating to others in
a diverse world, time, money & stress management, career
exploration and transfer and educational planning.
