The Cougars put up a good fight against conference champions Citrus on Saturday night, despite losing 73-66. Brannon Bradley led all scorers with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Brian Kimble and Rasheem Harris had 16 points apiece. After falling behind quickly with a score of 39-25 at the half, the Cougars came back out and fought hard for the remaining 20 minutes of the ball game, but fell short. The Cougars finish the season with a 13-15 overall record and 5-7 conference record.
2-10-10 Cougars Fall to L.A. Valley

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's basketball team could not hold off a hot shooting L.A. Valley College team on Wednesday night, as the Cougars lost their second consecutive game, 80-73. Valley shot 51.9 percent (27-52) in comparison to the Cougars who shot 35.8 percent (19-53) from the field as the Monarchs held the Cougars leading scorer Brannon Bradley to seven points on a 2-for-10 shooting night. Valley built up a 16-point halftime lead, 45-29, as the Monarchs went on a 15-7 run in the final 4:30 minutes of the first half. Coming out of the break, Valley increased its lead to as much as 21 points to start the second 20 minutes, but the Cougars could only get it as close as seven points in the final seconds. Rendon Dominguez led all scorers with 19 points and Parker Dominguez had 12 points and five rebounds off the bench. The Cougars travel to Santa Monica on Saturday, Feb. 13 for a 7 p.m. game.
2-6-10 Cougars Suffer Loss At Hands Of Bakersfield

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - College of the Canyons men's basketball team was leading 37-34 at halftime against Bakersfield College, but gave up 48 points to the Renegades in the second half, to lose 82-75. The loss drops the Cougars to 4-4 in conference and creates a two-way tie with Glendale College for third place in the Western State Conference, South division. The Renegades shot a blistering 59.3 percent (16-27) in the second half, while COC came in at 50 percent (12-24), which was not enough to stay ahead of Bakersfield. COC had four players in double figures, including Brannon Bradley who had a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds. Brian Kimble contributed 20 points and Parker Dominguez had 12 points off the bench.
1-30-10 COC Hands West L.A. Seventh Conference Loss

The Cougars easily improved to 4-3 in conference play after taking care of West L.A. College on Saturday night, 82-66. Brannon Bradley had 23 points and 10 rebounds on 11-for 14 shooting from the field and Rendon Dominguez turned in 14 points. COC will host Bakersfield on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m.

GLENDORA, Calif—Despite a tough 94-76 loss to first place Citrus College on Wednesday night, Parker Dominguez and Brannon Bradley both managed to shine for the Cougars, scoring a combined total of 50 points. Unfortunately, with 23 turnovers, it wasn't enough to give Canyons the upper hand. The Cougars will face West L.A. in Culver City on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
1-23-10 Harris Scores Five In Extra Period To Take Care Of Glendale

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Freshman Rasheem Harris scored
all five of the Cougars points in overtime and the defense held Glendale one point, as the College of the Canyons men's team took sole possession of fourth place in the Western State Conference, South Division, with a 72-68 win against Glendale on Saturday night. Glendale and Canyons came into Saturday night's game with identical 11-9 and 2-2 records. COC opened the game with 11-3 run, building up an 11-point halftime lead, 37-26. Brian Kimble finished the first half with 16 points, lighting up the floor on 6-for-10 shooting. The Vaqueros came back in the second half, tying the game back up at the 8:35 mark with two free throws. The two squads exchanged baskets for the rest of the half, but two missed 3-pointers by both teams forced an extra period with a 67 tie. In overtime, Harris scored all five of the Cougar's points, while the Vaqueros couldn't make a field goal in the five minute period and were held to making one free throw. Kimble led all scorers with 18 points and Rendon Dominguez added 16 points and nine rebounds. The Cougars will travel to Citrus College on Wednesday, Jan. 27 for a 7 p.m. game.
1-6-09 Kimble's 18 Points Helps COC Win Conference Home Opener

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Starting guard Brian Kimble scored 18 points and dished out seven assists as he led the Cougars to 73-62 win over West L.A. on Wednesday night in COC's conference home opener. Kimble was 4-of-8 in field goal attempts and 10-of-12 from the free throw line to lead all scorers with 18 points. Freshman Rendon Dominguez had 14 points off the bench, including the Cougars only 3-pointer of the night. COC will head to Bakersfield on Wednesday, Jan. 13 to take on the Renegades at 7 p.m.
12-6-09 Cougars Take Fourth Place In Rancho Vista Classic
LANCASTER, Calif. - After defeating host Antelope Valley College in the first round of the Rancho Vista Classic, 78-73, College of the Canyons dropped two games to Moorpark, 88-77, and Glendale, 87-83, to finish in fourth place at the three-day tournament. Rasheem Harris, who had averaged just five points a game so far in the season, hit for 22, including six threes to lead the Cougars. And it was the threes by a team that shot 38 percent in the first seven games from behind the arc that made the difference. Twice AVC was up in the ball game by at least three points - the second time with less than two minutes left - and twice the Cougars hit back-to-back threes to take control of the contest. The Cougars shot 57 percent from the 3-point line. Against Moorpark, Canyons overcame a 22-point deficit to take a one-point lead with four minutes left, but like the Cougars the night before against Antelope Valley, Moorpark hit two straight threes to stop the momentum and take back over the game. Brannon Bradley, who was named to the all-tournament team, had 25 points in the losing effort and was the only Cougar in double figures. Against conference opponent Glendale College, COC lost a 10-point halftime lead as the Vaqueros turned in 52 points. Again Bradley had 24 points on a 10-for-18 shooting night. COC returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 16 for the Glendale College Tourney.
