11-9-12 Canyons Ties In Final Game Of The Season

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team gave up a goal in the 74th minute of Friday's match up with Santa Monica College, which tied the game at 3-3 in the final game of the regular season. COC finished the season with a 4-10-6 and 3-8-5 record in conference. Canyons opened up a 2-0 lead with two quick goals from Steven Jusko and Jordan Markovich. Santa Monica scored two goals, one to right before halftime and the other to start the second half, to tie the game at 2-all. Canyons took the lead back in the 72nd minute on a lob from Carlos Palacios to Mayro Gomez who placed the ball in the back of the net. COC's 3-2 lead would be short lived as the Corsairs scored two minutes later.

10-16-12 Cougars Fall To Santa Barbara City

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team gave up the game-winning goal just two minutes into the second half to drop a 2-1 decision to Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday afternoon at College of the Canyons. Canyons tied up the game in the first half, when Martin Adame centered the ball from a free kick to Jose Sandoval shot past the SBCC goalkeeper in the 41st minute. With the loss, COC falls to 2-7-5 on the year and 1-5-4 in Western State Conference play. Canyons will host Moorpark College on Friday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m.

10-5-12 COC Plays Mission to 1-1 Draw

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Los Angeles Mission College this afternoon. German Oliva-Techera scored COC's lone goal on a 5-yard header after a short pass from Abraham Garcia. COC is now 2-4-5 overall and 1-2-4 in Western State Conference play. COC will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 9, for a 4 p.m. match up with Santa Monica.

9-25-12 COC and Citrus Play To Tie

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team and Citrus College played to a 0-0 tie on Tuesday night at COC's upper field. COC was outshot by Citrus 7-5, but held a 2-0 advantage with shots on goal. COC is now 2-3-4 overall and 1-1-3 in conference. The Cougars will travel to Oxnard College for another conference match-up at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28.

9-11-12 COC Opens Conference Season With Victory Over Glendale

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team flew past Glendale College on Tuesday night, 5-1, at Cougar Stadium. With the victory, COC improves to 2-2-1 and 1-0 in conference play. The win, was the largest margin of victory for the team since the season started. Mayro Gomez scored just 10 minutes in and the scoring continued for the Cougars the rest of the game. Freshman German Oliva-Techera had a multi-goal game as he found the net twice in the second half. Sophomore Jordan Markovich and freshman Angel Sandoval also had a piece in the scroing action. Steven Jusko notched two assists in the match, along with Nick Potter and Jamie Bent. Freshman Hector Leon had six saves in goal. COC outshot the Vaqueros 18-10 in the victory. COC will return to action on Friday, Sept. 14, to travel to Santa Barbara College.

9-1-12 COC Wins Season Opener Over Gavilan
SANTA CLARITA, Calif.. - The men's soccer team notched its first win of the season today with a 1-0 victory over visiting Gavilan, in the team's season home opener. Jordan Markovich scored COC's goal in the ninth minute with an indirect kick that soared to the left corner of the net. Hector Leon had three saves in goal for 50 minutes. The Cougars are now 1-1-1 and will now travel to West Hills Lemoore for a match on Friday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m.
