SANTA CLARITA, Calif. —
No. 7 ranked College of the Canyons dropped their second game of the season to No. 1 ranked Mt. Led by Canyons forward Charity Smith’s 25 points and six rebounds the Cougars (3-2) matched Mt. SAC (6-0) bucket for bucket early in the first half, before the Mounties went on decisive 14-5 run in the final six minutes of the period to open up a big 31 -21 lead. Though the Cougars battled throughout, their second half effort would not be enough to overcome a Mt. SAC squad featuring hot-shooting Mounties duo Ashley Adams (13 points and five rebounds) and Jordan Kuzma (13 points and seven rebounds) — as Canyons combined to shoot just over 32 percent from the floor. Canyons will next travel to El Camino College, Friday Nov. 21, for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
