Shelter In Place/Lock Down Procedure

Follow instructions of emergency messaging and staff. If it is safe to run and escape do so. If you must shelter in place;

• Lock/Barricade all windows and doors.
• Shut the blinds and cover any windows including door windows.
• Move to an interior room or building space away from as many windows as possible. It may be necessary to move to a higher or lower floor or into a hallway.
• Turn all devices to the silent mode.
• Turn off the lights so it appears the room or building is unoccupied.
• Remain quiet.
• Remain in the shelter until emergency personnel notify you that it's safe to leave. Do not contact parents or friends to come to campus to pick you up until you are told it is safe to do so.
• If a suspect enters your area then fight to defend yourself.
