Parking Citations
How to File a Citation Appeal
Citation appeals will not be considered after 21 days of the date of
issuance. To appeal a parking citation , refer to the back of the ticket
and come into the campus safety office (X8) to fill out an appeal form.
Appeals are submitted and reviewed by a independent outside source not
affiliated with the college. A response is sent within two weeks.
Citations that are upheld must be paid within 15 days of the date mailed
or you may request a mail- in or in person review of the citation by a
hearing officer.
The following does not
constitute good cause to void or dismiss citations. Appeals based
solely on these reasons will not be considered.

Hearing Review
If you are requesting a hearing review,
you must do so through the campus safety office within 21 days of
receiving your appeals outcome. Prior to your review you must pay a
retainer fee which will be applied to the citation if it is upheld. If
your citation is dismissed you will be refunded the retainer fee within
two weeks from Santa Clarita Community College District. Appointments
are then scheduled with the hearing officer who is an independent
outside source not affiliated with the college. You may meet with the
hearing officer in person or send additional information in writing for
his review.
Ticket Payment Waiver
Payment Waiver may be available to you if your
appeal has been upheld and you wish to request a hearing but are unable
to pay the required fine(s). If you are subsequently found liable at
the hearing, you must pay the total amount of the parking citation plus
any delinquency fees.
Instructions:
Request a Fee Waiver form. You must supply the College with
satisfactory proof of your inability to pay the amount due by submitting
the following:
·
An itemized monthly income and expense statement
·
A copy of a current signed IRS tax filing
·
A request to waive the fine so that you can further
contest the citation
·
A signed written statement that the information provided
is true and correct
Note: The
documents that you submit will not be returned to you. Please only send
copies and keep a full set of originals for your files. This
information must be submitted within 21 days of the date of your review
