Appointments
IMPORTANT NEWS:
The Counseling Department has just been informed by the College
Administration that students with financial and administrative holds will not be able to schedule counseling appointments
until their obligations are met and the holds are removed. Please
contact the Student Business Office for information on financial
obligations or the Admissions & Records Office for other holds. If
you have already scheduled a counseling appointment and you have a
financial or administrative hold,
your appointment will be cancelled.
Official Transcripts
We highly recommend that official transcripts from all previous college work
be on file with the Admissions and Records Office
when you schedule the counseling appointment. If the counselors do not
see your transcripts, they will not know which courses are completed and
which courses are still needed so we may not be able to write a Student
Education Plan for you. Check with Admissions and Records at (661) 362-3280
to see if your transcripts have been received by
COC before the appointment.
LIMITED APPOINTMENTS
Please note that counselors teach classes and facilitate workshops so
they are not always in their offices for scheduled private counseling appointments. There are limited numbers of counseling appointments.
However, Program Advisors are available for consultations during open
office hours Monday-Thursday 10AM-7PM at the Drop-In-Desk in the
Counseling Office.

Appointment for Veteran Students
Appointments for veteran students
must be made in person or by calling (661) 362-3287 Monday-Thursday

Appointments for Students Petitioning An Extension on Their
Financial Aid
Appointments for such students can be scheduled with the Financial Aid
counselor in the Financial Aid Office by calling (661) 362-3242.
Private 30 Minute Appointments
Students currently enrolled at COC may schedule a counseling appointment up to 10 days in advance. See the button and link below. Note that you must be a current COC student and have a COC student ID number to schedule a counseling appointment. A counseling appointment will be cancelled if the student does not check in at the front desk within the first 10 minutes of the scheduled appointment. Please click on one of the buttons below to see available appointments for the next 10 days.
No Show Policy
If you fail to keep two counseling appointments in one semester, you will be restricted from making another appointment until the following semester. To prevent this from happening to you, please be sure to cancel at least 24 hours prior to your counseling appointment in one of the following 3 ways:
1. Call the counseling office at 661-362-3287 or 661-362-3811 and
speak to one of our Program Advisors
2. Cancel when given the option via our automated reminder system
(SARScall)
3. Go to the counseling webpage online and cancel online.
