Career "Gateway" or Megasites:

Be sure to check College of the Canyons' Career Center page where you can link to a variety of their services and well as a large variety of Internet Job Banks and other career-related links!

Job Star Central

Produced by the public libraries of California, this is one of the best career sites on the web.  According to noted career author, Richard Bowles, it has the best overall Resume resource guide on the WWW. It Career Guides are excellent and feature links to trends, news, information by career area, career planning and assessment tools from one location. The Guides for Specific Careers is very helpful as they include the best info from various university career centers, links to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, "California Career Guides", and the About Work Career Database. The sections on Salary Information and the Hidden Job Market are wonderful.

Monster College

Targeted job listing to college students and alumni through their college career centers so COC students need a special password or can access the listings in the Career Services Center. Online, Monster Trak offers assistance in the job search from resume development to preparing for job interviews.  A great, comprehensive resource for community college students.

The Riley Guide: Employment Opportunities and Job Resources on the Internet

This award-winning site is regarded as the best "gateway" site by Richard Bowles as well as most other career professionals I encountered on the Web. It is compiled by Margaret Riley, the Internet columnist for the National Business Weekly and the author of The Guide to Internet Job Searching. An incredibly comprehensive career resource, it is divided into a section which assists the job seeker with the process of an Internet job search including the development of the electronic resume and the links to other job and career resources.

Career Magazine

A massive career search service. It's magazine format is comprehensive and easy to use. Besides  job postings which tend to have a technical focus and a free resume bank, there are valuable sections featuring articles devoted to college students (On Campus) and to women and minorities (Focus on Diversity). A career forum discussion area where you can network with different types of job seekers and an "Ask Alison" column which provides job search advice are also included.

Careers.org

Thousands of links to jobs, employers, businesses, education and career professionals on the web plus other career resources such as software lists, publications, resource evaluations with everything cross-referenced geographically.
