Educational Travel
|
The academic requirements, standards, and student rights and
responsibilities for all College of the Canyon students are applicable
to students participating in educational travel. Additionally, students
participating in educational travel, and prior to departing for a
destination will need to meet the following requirements:
|
A. |
Register in a minimum of two sections unless
they have already completed all of the other courses offered in
the ET project, or they are not academically eligible to enroll
because they have not completed the prerequisite, or only one
course is being offered for the ET project.
|
|
B. |
If the ET project is offered in an
interdisciplinary format, the student must enroll in at least
one course in two disciplines.
Note: Students must be enrolled in a course to
participate in an educational travel trip. Any exceptions must
be discussed and approved by the Vice President of Academic
Affairs.
|
|
C. |
Complete all applicable forms and sign all
waivers requested by the College and travel agency.
|
|
D. |
Provide a valid passport and proof of travel
insurance at the level required in the form provided by the
Instruction Office.
|
|
E. |
Attend the information and orientation sessions
scheduled by the faculty or the travel agency prior to
departure.
|
|
Student Discipline
The same standards for student conduct for all COC students
are applicable to students participating in educational travel
projects. If student discipline results in a student needing to
be sent home, the return home will be at the student's expense.
Students sign a student conduct form informing them of these
consequences prior to embarking on the trip. |
