Audience: This training series is designed for home
remodel contractors, HVAC contractors, solar contractors, insulation
contractors, or anyone interested in developing a business in
whole-house energy auditing.
Entry Wage: $12-15/hr
1 Year Wage: $20 and up/hr
Description: This 9-day intensive home performance
training series teaches whole-house energy efficiency and building
performance testing, evaluation, and contracting with homeowners for
upgrading existing homes to improve comfort, safety, health,
durability and energy efficiency. You will also learn about the
properties of energy, insulation, air leakage, windows and doors,
heating and cooling systems, water heating systems and more. You
will gain confidence through two days of hands-on practice with
diagnostic tools (blower door, manometer, thermometer, smoke pen, CO
meter, duct blaster) while being closely observed by the trainer and
assistant to ensure proper techniques.
