My name is Lisa Pavik and my role in the Financial Aid Office is to be the "one stop shop" for all foster youth transitioning out of the foster system into college. I provide guidance, information and resources to all foster youth interested in becoming a student at College of the Canyons. I am available to assist you through the various processes necessary to begin attending college including: application for admission, application for financial aid, and registration into classes. I will also introduce you to the benefits of various Student Services departments on campus, such as: Extended Opportunities Programs and Services (EOPS,) Student Health and Wellness, and the Career Center. I work closely with the Independent Living Coordinator, assigned to you by the Department of Child, and Family Services, to help connect you with access to resources you may need such as: money for books, food, transportation, and shelter. If you would like to schedule an appointment to speak with me in person, please call the Financial Aid Office at (661)362-3215. You may also leave a message for me at (661)362-3275, or I can be reached via e-mail at lisa.pavik@canyons.edu. |
