who plan to change to F-1 status

In order to be
considered for acceptance to College of the Canyons
international student applicants must have the following
criteria:

English
proficiency at least of a low-intermediate level
-
Sufficient
funding for one academic year tuition and living expenses
-
Proof of
completion of secondary education
-
A health
practitioner’s verification that the applicant is clear of
tuberculosis.

Proof of
valid status in the U.S. such as:
-
Valid
B2 visa and status especially those who initially have
entered the country with the intention of finding a
school
-
Valid
E2 status and/or visa
-
Valid
F2 status and/or visa
-
Valid
J1 visa and status holders with no 2 year residency
requirement on their DS 2019
-
L2-
status and/or visa
-
H4-status and/or visa

the requirements before we can approve your application.
This is your checklist to make sure you have submitted all
required documents.

ISP Application
with a photo (2in.x2in. size)
- Health questionnaire
with a signature for an
emergency care
- Tuberculosis (TB) clearance by skin test or chest x-ray
- Current* official financial document which proves
that you have sufficient financial support,
US$11,900 (add $4,000
for each dependent if you have any), for tuition,
books, supplies and living expenses for one academic year

- Affidavit of support (if you have a financial sponsor**,
this form needs to be signed by your sponsor and submitted
with his/her financial document)
*The
financial documents must be issued no earlier than 2 months
before the application deadline.
**If the sponsor is a U.S. citizen,
I-134
form should be completed by the sponsor.
- Proof of English proficiency evidenced by
one of the following documents
- Official high school graduation
certificate or transcripts, translated into English, which
proves your graduation from a secondary school that is
equivalent to an American high school
- Essay expressing your interest for
admission and indicating your educational goals (one page)
- Copy of passport page(s) which
contains your name, picture, date of birth and its
expiration date
- Copy of visa page
- Copy of I-94 (Arrival/Departure Card)
(front and back)
- DS-2019 if you are in J status
