The College of the Canyons Institute of Teaching and
Learning is an organization for the promotion and implementation of a
wide range of professional development opportunities for teachers. The
Institute is responsible for recruiting and training experienced
teachers who have the ability to share their skills with others. Through
these facilitators and trainers the program offers a collection of
course-length workshops, including a 54 hour Skilled Teacher
Certificate, and programs that promote the improvement of
teaching. The Institute follows a
Mission Statement focused on the promotion of a culture of teaching
excellence and is led by a Steering
Committee of eight teachers and administrators.
