Ron Dreiling
Ron, an English
Professor at College of the Canyons, teaches primarily in the
PACE Program. Upon his arrival in the Santa
Clarita Valley six years ago, he began teaching primarily for
the PACE Program. Prior to this, he taught community college
classes in Austin, Texas, and Hutchinson, Kansas.
Ron’s professional goals center on
expanding education opportunities by helping create a variety of
paths into the college classroom. The Distance Learning Program
and programs such a PACE and Weekend College offer important
alternatives to the traditional college experience. These kinds
of programs are of special importance to returning students
whose educational needs are as diverse as the students
themselves.
Ron received his B.A. from Washburn
University (Topeka, Kansas) and his M.A. from the University of
Kansas. He recently earned an Online Teaching Certificate from
CSU East Bay. Ron’s hobbies include sailing, trail running, and
exploring California’s State and National Parks. Most of all,
he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Jill
Roberson Jill has worked for the
PACE Program since December 1998. She is proud to assist
students as they strive to reach their educational goals. She
is especially pleased to help re-entry students, since she herself
began pursuing her degree in earnest after twenty years out of
school. She was awarded an Associate of Science degree from
COC in May 2002, graduating as a COC Highest Honors student and
active member of Phi Theta Kappa, The International Community
College Honors Society. She credits PACE for helping her reach
her educational goals in a timelier manner than anticipated.
