How are PACE classes similar to
traditional classes?
All of your instructors are members of
the College of the Canyons faculty. They are committed to
providing you with the same high-quality education as in
traditional classes. Moreover, you earn the same number of
units for the same cost as with other College of the Canyon
classes.
Who are PACE students?
Since PACE began at College of the
Canyons in Spring 1998, our enrollment has grown to over 200
students per semester. Most of our students are working adults
between the ages of 24 and 50 who reside in Santa Clarita.
What if you haven't been to college
before or have been out of school for a long time?
COC offers a wide array of
support services, and PACE students may work together in
study groups. Still, many returning students find that math
and English courses pose a special challenge. COC offers
preparatory math and English classes every semester. You may
also find the services of the Tutoring and Learning Center

Eligibility
for English 081 & 091 and Math 060 is strongly
recommended before starting PACE.

AA degree
requires only Math 70 and two PE units ‹see a counselor

Liberal Studies are not UC majors. Students planning to go
to a UC should take the Social Science track and
work with a counselor on the fulfillment of major
requirements.
