How are PACE classes similar to traditional classes?

All of your instructors are members of the College of the Canyons faculty. They are committed to providing you with the same high-quality education as in traditional classes. Moreover, you earn the same number of units for the same cost as with other College of the Canyon classes.

Who are PACE students?

Since PACE began at College of the Canyons in Spring 1998, our enrollment has grown to over 200 students per semester. Most of our students are working adults between the ages of 24 and 50 who reside in Santa Clarita.

What if you haven't been to college before or have been out of school for a long time?

COC offers a wide array of support services, and PACE students may work together in study groups. Still, many returning students find that math and English courses pose a special challenge. COC offers preparatory math and English classes every semester. You may also find the services of the Tutoring and Learning Center to be helpful. For more information, see: http://www.canyons.edu/offices/TLC/

Please Note

  • Eligibility for English 081 & 091 and Math 060 is strongly recommended before starting PACE.
  • AA degree requires only Math 70 and two PE units ‹see a counselor for details.
  • Some classes have pre-requisites ‹ students are responsible for meeting all pre-requisites.
  • Additional requirements may apply for transfer ‹ see a counselor for details.
  • All classes are subject to change pending new articulation agreements ‹ see a counselor for details.
  • Business and Liberal Studies are not UC majors. Students planning to go to a UC should take the Social Science track and work with a counselor on the fulfillment of major requirements.
  • Liberal Studies foreign language requirements vary with transfer institutions ‹ see a counselor for details.
