This site will provide you with up-to-date information in the event of an emergency or disaster that impacts College of the Canyons. Information will be posted as it becomes available. Should an emergency occur, it is very likely that information will be available in the most timely manner on our Facebook and Twitter pages. As always, the best way to cope with an emergency or disaster is to be as well prepared as possible. We encourage you to develop an individual or family plan to cope with an emergency situation, and to maximize the tools you use every day (cell phones, computers, etc.) to stay connected to important information.

eAlerts
The City of Santa Clarita's eAlerts system notifies residents of emergencies via text message and/or email. New users receive messages from the city, and L.A. County's Office of Emergency Management and Sheriff's Department. The service is free, although text message rates apply. Sign up

Alert LA County
Los Angeles County's emergency mass-notification system contacts residents and businesses via recorded phone messages, text messages or email messages in the event of an emergency.  Land lines are automatically included because the system utilizes the telephone companies' 911 system. If you would like to receive these notifications on your cellular or VOIP number, or via email, you must register. Sign up

Earthquake Notification System
The U.S. Geological Survey's Earthquake Notification Service alerts you when a magnitude 6.0 or greater earthquake occurs in Southern California. Information is available within 5 minutes of the earthquake. Sign up

The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has numerous tips, guides and information to help you prepare a disaster or emergency plan.
