What is The Learning Center?
Going to college involves more than just showing up to class. In a typical class most of the work is done outside of the classroom: homework, group projects, test preparation, and papers. At College of the Canyons there is a place on campus that can help every step of the way, The Learning Center (TLC). TLC offers tutoring in English, math, CIT, and many other subjects.
These services are available to enrolled College of the Canyons’ students for their COC courses on a walk-in basis at no charge. No appointment is needed. Student Identification is required for all students
who wish to utilize services in The Learning Center (TLC), in both the Valencia and Canyon Country Campus. Student ID may be obtained in the office of Student Development, STNC 102.
GLAs and Workshops for Fall: Supplemental Learning Activities will begin the week of January 5th for Winter 2015 session. GLA Hours will be 9am-5pm Monday through Thursday (Valencia) and 10am-4pm Monday through Thursday at the Canyon Country Campus. TLC is closed on Friday and Saturday (both campuses). COC Student ID required. Students may complete two activities per day and should arrive 10-15 minutes early for workshops to insure admittance.
(if proctoring in TLC is required by your instructor: These appointments are ONLY for COC students currently enrolled in an online or hypbrid course AT COC. If you are looking for proctoring for an exam you are taking for another institution, please see our Testing page for information)
