  1. TIME PERIOD OF WORK This is a student exhibition, so all selections should set an example of superior work in form, content, process and effort.  All work must be created in class under instructor’s supervision within the last two (2) school years (between August 2007 to March 2009), no exceptions.

  2. PRESENTATION Students are required to learn to make a professional presentation, so poorly mounted or ill-framed works, loose frames, wet paintings, frames missing their straps, screw eyes, or wires will not be hung. Anything that is not professionally presented will not be hung.

  3. SIZE Our goal is to try to accommodate a maximum of 70 to 80 works, so please use good judgment if size is an issue. We want to include a variety of works and as many of them without creating a circus. This is not possible if grandstanding occurs. Width limitations will be strictly enforced at 48 inches*.

  4. NUMBER OF ENTRIES & ENTRY FEE We will accept up to three (3) pieces per student. No more than three (3) pieces per student will be accepted. An entry fee of $2.00 will be charged per entry. Complete the Entry Labels below.

  5. PROPERLY LABEL WORK Labels for all work must be legible so that an exhibition list and wall labels can be prepared. Works without properly, complete labels WILL NOT be installed. Each work must have a clearly printed label (see attached sample) that includes: name, phone number, date, title, media, size, and instructor name and course title. Attach the label to the upper right on back of the work or to the base of the sculpture or 3-D works so we will know how to properly install the work, i.e. indicates the top or bottom of a piece.

  6. SUITABLE FOR VIEWING In keeping with the mission of the community colleges, all works must be suitable for family viewing.

  7. DELIVERY DATES & TIME Selected works must be delivered to the SOUTH DOOR of the gallery by students on: Monday, March 23rd through Wednesday, March 25th, between the hours of 10:00 to 3:00. The first 100 entries will be accepted only. Works must be ready for hanging and installation. Late entries will not be accepted. We have limited installation time and need all the work in a timely manner to do the installation properly.

  8. JURY PROCESS Works will be JURIED on March 27th. No students will be permitted in the gallery during the installation and jury process. If a student’s work requires special installation, it should be noted clearly and briefly on the label, with a diagram if necessary. Works requiring extravagant space will not be included. For example, work over 8 running, lateral feet is inappropriate.

  9. LIABILITY College of the Canyons Art Gallery assumes no liability for loss or damage in transit or during the exhibition.

  10. NON-SELECTED WORK All non-selected works must be picked up on March 30th  between the hours of 10:00 and 3:00. There will be no exceptions. All work left after the pickup time will be discarded.

  11. RECEPTION A reception for the students will be held on: Tuesday, April 14th, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Family, friends, faculty, students and the public are welcome. Announcements will be available in the gallery.

  12. RETURN OF WORK Work may be picked up on Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th from 11:00 to 3:00. All work left after the final pickup time will be discarded.

*Although we appreciate works in series (diptychs, triptychs, etc.), keep in mind that we will strictly adhere to our size guidelines.
