…fifth year coaching with College of the Canyons, fourth year as the offensive coordinator and his second season as assistant coach...helped guide the Cougars to the highest point production in the state (45.9 ppg) and the highest total offensive yardage per game (499.9)…coached 2008 Offensive Player of the Conference wide receiver Hayo Carpenter and 2007 Co-WSC Player of the Year running back Fred Winborn…graduated from Huron University, located in South Dakota, with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education…three-time NAIA All-American quarterback and National Player of the Year in 1995 for Huron…he and his wife, Patti, and daughter, Jolie Rae, and son, Grayson, reside in Valencia… |

Defensive Coordinator Bart Hansen
…third season as the defensive coordinator and fifth year with the Cougars…entering ninth season coaching community college football…helped Cougars reach a 21-4 record while defensive coordinator...led the state in total defense yards last year holding teams to 245 yards per game and 3.7 yards per play…coached players who went on to play at Arizona State, Arizona, Hawaii, Tennessee, Marshall, Cincinnati and New Mexico…had coaching stints at L.A. Valley, Crespi High School and Granada Hills High School...graduated with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies at National University…completed a master’s degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific University…also is an adjunct instructor at COC...lives in Castaic with his wife Tami and their two daughters, Halia, and Kaiena… |

...joins the Cougar football coaching staff after working under Chuck Lyon...this will be his first year working with Garett Tujague...brings 22 years of coaching experience to the staff...played two years in the European Football League, before signing with the Los Angeles Rams in 1990...a member of his high school and college athletic hall of fames...earned his bachelor of arts in physical education at Cal State Northridge, his master’s in education from Azusa Pacific and his teaching credential from National University...is married to wife Lindie, the COC men’s and women’s cross country and track and field head coach...Mike and Lindie have two children, Doyle and Mike... |

…starting his sixth year with College of the Canyons…previously served at a graduate assistant in the Cougars 1998 inaugural season, defensive assistant in 2005 and wide receivers coach in 2006 and 2007…coached at Canyon High School in 1996 and 1997…graduated in 1998 from College of the Canyons…earned his bachelor’s degree in social science and teaching credential from Cal State Chico…completed his master’s degree in educational counseling from the University of La Verne…entering his eighth year as an instructor at Saugus High School where he teaches social studies and English… |

Defensive Line Coach John McClung
..sixth year coaching the defensive line, assisted in the development of 10 All-Conference players, one Defensive Player of the Year, three All-Americans and 14 Division I scholarship players…began coaching career as a defensive coordinator at St. Genevieve High School from 1968-71, helping them to a CIF championship and undefeated season in 1970…previously coached the Cougars from 1972-81 switching between offensive and defensive coordinator during those years...head coach of the women’s volleyball team at College of the Canyons from 1974-80...taught physical education classes at College of the Canyons from 1972-81…received construction license in 1982 and began own business…returned to be the assistant defensive line coach for the Cougars in 2004…earned a bachelor’s degree in history with an English minor from CSUN in 1972…has a master’s degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific…has one daughter, Amy… |

Wide Receivers Coach Altay Tascioglu
…second season coaching the slot receivers at College of the Canyons…worked with the running backs during the 2007 campaign...also serves as the youth football camps director, community relations, coach’s clinic and video editing coordinator…three receivers earned all-conference honors under his direction in 2008...coached the only two 1,000-yard rushers (Fred Winborn and Raphael Reynolds) at COC since football was reinstated in 1998...spent two seasons as the defensive quality control coach and led the offensive scout team at Northwood University…helped lead the Timberwolves to the NCAA Division II Playoffs in 2005 and 2006…served as football operations/Offense Intern in 2003 and 2004, at Central Michigan University…completed a training camp internship in 2001 with the New Orleans Saints…earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Purdue University…member of the American Football Coaches Association...resides in Valencia with his wife Sarah… |
