SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The 2010 College of the Canyons football team has signed 10 players with four-year universities on National Signing Day, including three players with Division I Football Bowl Subdivision schools.
“The Cougar football program had another great year in placing players in four-year universities,” said Cougar head football coach Garett Tujague. “There was a tremendous amount of effort by the players and support staff to help today become a reality. Today is just another example of the dedication the college has towards helping student-athletes succeed.”
Freshman and sophomore offensive linemen Randy Horton and Steven Haunga, who helped COC become the No. 15 scoring offense in Southern California, committed to the University of Nevada and Arkansas State University, respectively. Sophomore outside linebacker and second-leading tackler in 2010 Justin Cudworth will join Eastern Michigan University. Cudworth was a first-team all-conference selection and recorded 47 tackles and a team-high 5.5 sacks.
Tujague expects that more student-athletes will sign in the coming months.
