5-10-10 Cougars Season Comes To Early End At Southern California Regionals
MURRIETA, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons men's golf team recorded a 39-over 759 (375-384) on Monday afternoon at the Southern California Regionals at the par-72 SCGA Member's Club at Rancho California. The top four teams in the 10-team field and the top six individuals outside of those four top teams earned a spot in the State Championship on May 17. COC came in fifth place, two strokes behind fourth-place finisher Cypress College. The Cougars’ top golfer, Collin Wheeler, strung together an eagle, two birdies and 12 pars in the first round of play to finish even, but dropped to a 4-over 76 in the second round. He finished in 13th place and was the top finisher for Canyons.

4-26-10 COC Earns 16th Conference Title
CAMARILLO, Calif.
– The College of the Canyons men’s golf team came in first place in the Western State Conference after finishing the season with a 50-10 record, following Monday’s Western State Conference Championship. The Cougars finished in fifth place in both the morning and afternoon rounds at the par-71 Spanish Hills golf course, but their overall record was too good to be taken over by any other conference teams. The Cougars shot a 394 in the first round but turned in a much stronger second-round score of 384 for a two-round total of 778. With the conference title, they earn the program’s 16th title and earn a bid to the Southern California Finals on Monday, May 10 at SCGA Members Club.  Dominic Lingua, Dino Giacomazzi and Collin Wheeler were named all-conference.

4-19-10 Cougars End Regular Season With Win
GLENDALE, Calif. -
COC finished 11 strokes ahead of the second-place team on Monday afternoon at the Oakmont Country Club, to card a 376, good enough for first place in the final regular season tournament of the year. Alex Macaluso notched a 72 to tie for first place with Ross Martin of Santa Barbara City. The Cougars had five golfers finish in the top-10 and only had one golfer outside of the top-10. COC improved to 40-2 and will host the WSC Championship on Monday, April 26 at Spanish Hills.

4-5-10 COC Wins WSC Tournament By Four Strokes
VENTURA, Calif. -
The No. 1-ranked golf team in the state College of the Canyons won another conference tournament on Monday afternoon, improving its record to 28-2. The Cougars shot a 26-over-par 386 on the par-72 course at the Saticoy Country Club. With the win, the Cougars created more room between second-place Ventura (23-7) and COC, before the conference finals at the end of the month. Canyons had three golfers earn top-11 finishes, including tournament winner Dino Giacomazzi who carded a 1-over 73. COC will travel to the Hancock Invitational on Sunday, April 11 at the Santa Maria Country Club.

3-15-10 Lingua Leads COC To Tournament Win
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
The COC men's golf team improved to 16-2 in the Western State Conference on Monday afternoon after winning the Canyons Invitational that also doubled for a conference tournament. The Cougars turned in a 379 at Valencia Country Club to beat second-place Ventura by 18 strokes and tie the Pirates for second place in the conference. Dominic Lingua led the team with a 73 and Ty Pena notched a 75. The Cougars will travel to the North/South Invitational on March 21 and 22 at Hunter Ranch.

3-1-10 Three Cougars Finish In Top Ten In Cougars First Conference Win
SOLVANG, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons men's golf team posted a 378 on the Ranch Course at The Alisal par-73 course on Monday afternoon, good for a first-place finish in the first conference tournament of the season. COC finished three strokes in front of Glendale (381) and Ventura (381). Three Cougars finished in the top 10, who were led by Dominic Lingua who carded a 73 for third place. Dino Giocomazzi finished in sixth place with a 74 and Collin Wheeler turned in a 76 for 10th place. COC returns to action on Monday, March 8 for another WSC tourney at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield.

2-12-10 Cougars Take Second At Art Teixeira Memorial Golf Tournament

WHITTIER, Calif. -
College of the Canyons men's golf team carded a 368 at the Art Teixeira Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday afternoon, finishing two stokes behind tournament winners Orange Coast. Ryan Weltig and Chris Bango were the only Cougars to finish in the top 10. Weltig notched a 72 on thepar-72 California Country Club course and Bango turned in a 73.

2-2-10 Cougars Start Season With Win
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons men's golf team opened the 2010 season with a 19-stroke win in the two-day Larry Carr Invitational, held at the Seven Oaks Country Club and Rio Bravo Country Club. The Cougars strung together a 369 in the first round and a 370 in the second round for a two-round total of 739, 19 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Ventura College. Collin Wheeler led the Cougars with 144 (71-73), and was one of four golfers to post a under par round. Wheeler finished tied for second place.
