Men's Golf Coaching Staff
P.G.A.
professionals are an important part of the COC coaching staff.
Golfers on the COC team will be able to work with Ryan
Shaffer, P.G.A. at the Valencia Country Club for individual
work on their games. For the past 20 years Gary Peterson
has coached the College of the Canyons Golf Team. Unlike many
other golf coaches, Gary has focused all of his energy into
the success of the golf program working year round to shepherd
the student-athletes through the Community College academic
program.

State rules do not allow Coach Peterson
to make first contact. If you are interested in COC then
you must make first contact.

UCLA, USC, UCSB, Pepperdine or CSUN in your plans?
College of the Canyons is one of a few Community Colleges that
offers transfer agreements with the schools listed above. If
you complete a core of classes and keep a G.P.A. of 3.0 you
will be guaranteed a seat in one of these Universities.
Golf
scholarships should be a goal of each COC golfer.
Since 1988 we have sent on at least one golfer, each year, to
a four-year university on a golf scholarship. If you play hard
and study even harder you will be in line for the next scholarship.
