Three Cougar Softball Players Donned All-Conference

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – College of the Canyons softball players Lauren Rose, Jeralyn Gates and Sarah Hasenfus were named All-Western State Conference, as announced by the conference office Monday. Rose was named first-team, while the other ladies were honorable mentions.

Freshman first baseman Rose, who also lent her hand in the pitching duties, led the team in batting average (.328), RBIs (26) and slugging percentage (.523). The Valencia High School graduate also was one of the top fielders with 203 putouts and fielding percentage (.991).

SS freshman Jeralyn Gates (Glendale Academy): .317 batting average, 44 hits, 26 runs, 14 RBIs
2B sophomore Sarah Hasenfus (Canoga Park): .295 batting average, 31 hits, 26 runs, 9 RBIs
