Cougars Continue To Earn Postseason Accolades
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Four College of the Canyons women’s basketball players were named to the All-Western State Conference South Division Team, as announced by the conference office on Sunday. COC’s sophomore Andrea Bobic, freshman Britney Bradley and Kelly O’Linn received first-team honors and Charity Smith was named to the honorable mention team.
Bobic, who earns the all-conference nod for the second consecutive year, led the southern division in scoring with 20.2 ppg, while pulling down 12.0 rpg, ranking the 5-foot-inch guard third in the conference. Bobic led the team in scoring and rebounding during the 2007-08 basketball season.
Sophomore guard O’Linn receives the accolade for the first time of her COC career. The Saugus graduate was the Cougars second-leading scorer with 16.2 ppg.
Bradley, a Hart High School graduate, led the WSC in assists with 201 assists for a 7.2 apg average. The 5-foot-8-inch guard also turned in 12.7 ppg conference season.
Palmdale alum Smith was second in rebounding behind Bobic with 10.3 rpg. The 6-foot-2-inch forward averaged a double-double in conference play with her 12.3 ppg and rebounding average.
