Andrea Bobic Earns All-State Accolades
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – College of the Canyons women’s basketball guard Andrea Bobic was named to the 2008 first-team All-State squad, as announced by JC Scores. The sophomore is the third consecutive Cougar to be recognized with the prestigious honor. Former COC player Leslie Ortiz was a two-time honoree in 2006 and 2007 and forward Facion Edwards earned the award in 2007.
Bobic, a Lancaster High School alum, led the team in scoring and rebounding for the 2007-08 season. The 5-foot-8-inch player poured in 17.7 ppg and pulled down 12.0 rpg during the regular season with a season high game of 32 points against West L.A. (Jan. 19). Bobic also had a record-breaking season when she broke the school record for most 3-pointers in a game as she sunk eight long range shots in the same West L.A. game.
Bobic becomes the 16th College of the Canyons women’s basketball player to become an All-State selection under head coach Greg Herrick.
