TEMECULA, Calif. - College of the Canyons women's golfer Kristin Grimes turned in a 75 in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Associations Women's Golf State Championship tournament to lead the field, but carded a 79 in the second round to drop to fourth place with a 36-hole total of 10-over-par 154 (75-79), at Temecula Creek Inn Resort on Tuesday afternoon.

BONSALL, Calif. – The College of the Canyons women's golf team competed in the Southern California Championship on Tuesday afternoon and finished in fifth place with a 688. Despite the team not making it to the state tournament next week, sophomore Kristin Grimes carded a tournament-best 150 to win the Southern California Individual Championship.
10-15-12 Cougars Finish In Second At Brookside
PASADENA, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons women's golf team carded a 333 on Monday afternoon at the Brookside Golf Course to finish seven strokes behind tournament winner Glendale. COC now boasts a 19-5 record and is four points behind Glendale (23-1) with three more rounds of golf left in the regular season. Kristin Grimes carded an 80 to lead all COC golfers, while Catharin Walgamuth turned in a 83. COC will travel to Bakersfield on Monday, Oct. 22, for COC's sixth conference tournament.
10-1-12 Canyons Beats 16-Team Field To Win North-South Invitational
MORRO BAY - The College of the Canyons women's golf team shot a two-round total of 622 (314-308) during the Cougar's two-day North-South Invitational in Morro Bay on Monday afternoon, to finish in first place in the 16-team field. COC shot a season-best 308 in Monday's second round, to beat conference foe and second-place finisher Glendale College by one stroke. Kris Grimes, the defending individual state champion, turned in a 149 (76-73) and Madison Lomas carded a 152 (76-73) to finish in a tie for second place. The Cougars will return to action on Wednesday, October 10, as they host the conference tourney at Simi Valley Golf Course.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women's golf team carded a 325 at Stockdale Country Club on Monday afternoon, beating conference leader Glendale College by nine strokes. For the third consecutive conference tournament, Kris Grimes led the field with a 72, followed by Madison Lomas who carded an 80. With the victory, COC improves to 13-3 on the season. COC will travel to the Morro Bay Tourney on Monday, Oct. 1.

SAN DIMAS, Calif. -
For the second conference tournament in a row, sophomore golfer Kris Grimes finished in first place, helping the team finish in second place. The Cougars posted a 336 at the par-72 San Dimas Golf Course, 12 strokes behind the first-place finisher Glendale. Grimes turned in a 72 and was the only player to finish with an even score. Madison Lomas tallied a 86, while Nicole DeFrancisco and Kaylie Sadlon rounded out the Cougar scoring with 89s. COC will return to action on Monday Sept. 24, to travel to Desert Golf Course for another conference tournament.

The College of the Canyons women's golf team finished seven strokes behind first -place Glendale College at the first conference turnament of the year a the Santa Babara Golf Course on Monday afternoon. The Cougars carded a 322, while Glendale turned in a 315. Defending state champion Kristin Grimes won an individual tournament championship after she carded a a 71. COC will now travel to San Dimas Canyon Golf Course, for another conference tournament on Monday, Sept. 17.

VENTURA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women's golf team turned in a 339 on Monday afternoon at the par-72 Olivas Links Golf Course. The Cougars lost to Glendale College by 17 strokes in the first tournament of the year. Nicole DeFrancisco led the team with a 6-over 78, as she placed in second place in the individual top 10. COC will travel to its first conference tournament on Monday, Sept. 10, when Santa Barbara hosts the tourney at Santa Barbara Golf Course.
