Grimes and DeFrancisco Transfer to Four-Year Programs

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - College of the Canyons women's golfer Kris Grimes and Nicole DeFrancisco have transferred to play at Southern Illinois University and California State University, Northridge, respectively.

Both golfers were qualifiers after high school and will be eligible to play with their new teams in the spring, with half of the season remaining.

Grimes, the 2011 individual state champion and 2012 Southern California Champion, will join a Salukis team that is led by Alexis Mihelich and has already won one tournament this season.

DeFrancisco, who was one of COC's top golfers this season, will bring her talent to a Annie Young led Matador team that had six top-10 team finishes in the fall season.
