The Cougars started the season strong with four consecutive wins at the WSC matches, but longtime nemesis Santa Barbara City College crept up on Canyons and won the last three conference matches of the season, including the conference championship tournament. College of the Canyons still edged out the Vaqueros (35-5) with a 37-3 record in WSC play and brought home the sixth conference title since the program began in 1999. Following the conference win, the Cougars set their eyes on the Southern California Championship. Led by freshman Jenny Lee, who took home individual medalist honors as she topped the field, the Cougars dominated and led second-place Santa Barbara by 16 shots during the two-day tournament. The success continued for the squad as they carded a 14-stroke lead at the State Championships, to earn Canyons second state title. Lee led the team, finishing at even par with a 143 (70-73), and took home individual medalist honors for her first-place finish. The La Canada graduate, who was named All-State, was the only golfer to finish at even par, setting an individual championship record, and her first-round score of 70, was the only under-par round of the tournament.

College of the Canyons finished the 2008 Western State Conference season in second place with a 35-10 record behind eventual state champions Santa Barbara City College (44-1). Jennifer Kim and Vanessa Boileau were both named all-conference. Bolieau was the only Cougar to qualify for the state championship. She finished the event with a 179 for the two-round event.
