10-24-08 COC Drops Match To Mission

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - College of the Canyons gave up three goals in the second half to visitng Mission College, as the Cougars dropped a conference match. Merrit Kent and Ashley Hill both had a shot on goal, but were unsucessful in their tries. The Cougars has six saves in the game. Canyons falls to 3-14, 2-6 in conference. The Cougars hit the road on Tuesday, Oct. 28 for a 4 p.m. match up with L.A. Valley.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - COC was held scoreless on Tuesday afternoon against visiting Pierce College as they dropped the match, 1-0. The Cougars had two shots, but were unsucessful, and tallied four saves on the afternoon. COC returns to action on Friday, Oct. 24 to host Mission at 4 p.m.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women's soccer team was held scoreless against Bakersfield on Friday, 2-0. Bakersfield scored one goal in each half and outshot the Cougars 6-0. COC had four saves in the match. College of the Canyons will host Pierce on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m.
10-7-08 Cougars Blank Citrus 3-0

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team posted its second shutout of the season, and its second consecutive conference win of the season on Tuesday afternoon with a 3-0 defeat of Citrus College. The Cougars opened up a 1-0 lead when freshman Nicole Quintanilla scored from the top of the 18-yard box, with the assist from Jael Silva. This is the second game in a row that Quintanilla has scored at least one goal – she had two in the win against L.A. Valley. COC scored two more times in the first half with scores from Ashley Hill and Merrit Kent. Hill also added the assist on Kent’s goal and Kimberly Plancarte got the assist on Kent’s score. COC outshot Citrus 5-4 in the match and had four saves. College of the Canyons is now 3-9 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Cougars will return to action again on Friday, Oct. 10 as they travel to Santa Monica for a 3 p.m. matchup.
9-26-08 Cougars Downed By Fresno City

Fresno, Calif. - Freshman Ashley Hill scored a goal in the second half of COC's match with Fresno City College on Friday evening, but it wasn't enough to get the Cougars by Fresno, 5-1. COC recorded 10 saves on the evening. The team drops to 1-8 on the year. The team will travel to L.A. Mission for its first conference match of the season.
9-23-08 COC Gives Up Four Goals In Loss

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - COC saw visiting Santa Barbara score four goals over the course of Tuesday's game in a 4-0 loss for the Cougars. The Cougars drop to 1-7. Ashley Lara was the only player to take a shot on goal but was unsucessful in her try. As a team, the Cougars had 15 saves. COC heads to Fresno on Friday, Sept. 26 for a 4 p.m. match.
