SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team has earned a No. 2 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Southern Regional Playoffs and will host the winner of the No. 15 East Los Angeles College/No. 18 Long Beach City College match up at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, in Cougar Stadium.
11-9-12 COC Uses Second Half Goals To Play To Tie

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Despite giving up two early scores in Friday's game against Pierce College, the College of the Canyons women's soccer team used two second-half goals to even the score at 2-2 in both team's last regular season game of the year. Canyons saw Pierce put two balls into the back of the net in the first 10 minutes of the match, while also getting outshot 7-4 in the first half of the game. After being down 2-0, Canyons regrouped at the break and Kassy Talamantez had a cross from Stacey Atwater in the 52nd minute for COC's first goal of the game. Thirty minutes later Sarah Sager got in on the scoring action to tie it up at 2-2. By the end of the match, COC had outshot Pierce 14-8 and had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Goalie Linda Hernandez had one save in 57 minutes of play. Canyons now awaits playoff seedings on Tuesday afternoon.
11-6-12 Cougars Win Back-To-Back Conference Titles With Victory Over Citrus

GLENDORA, Calif. – The women's soccer team continued to dominate on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated Citrus College 3-2 in at Citrus Stadium to take sole possession of the Western State Conference, South Division title. This is COC’s second title in as many years.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women's soccer team notched a 1-0 victory over Citrus College on Friday evening, to put COC on top of the conference
standings. The Cougars, who are the defending Western State Conference, South Division champions, were in second place behind Citrus (9-1-2, 5-1) to start the game, but Friday's win moved COC over Citrus. COC and Citrus will play another match in Glendora on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Canyons' Katie Colletta scored COC's lone goal in the 51st minute on a short kick that floated to the back left corner of the net. College of the Canyons will head to Pierce on Friday, Oct. 19 for a 4 p.m. match, to finish off the first half of its conference season.

The COC women's soccer team clobbered Glendale College 6-0 on Friday afternoon. Five different Cougars scored, including two goals from Katie Colletta. COC improved to 9-0-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference. The Cougars will travel to West L.A. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 for a 2 p.m. match.

9-18-12 Sayre Lifts COC Past Moorpark College

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Freshman Brittany Sayre scored two goals on Tuesday night to spark a 3-1 victory over Moorpark College in Cougar Stadium. With the victory, COC improves to 6-0-1, as the team entered the national rankings as the No. 9 team in the country earlier in the day. The Cougars scored early in the match as Kassy Talamantez tapped the ball into the back of the net in the fourth minute and opened a 1-0 lead. Canyons added to its score 15 minutes later with Sayre's first of two goals. Her second came just two minutes into the second half. COC allowed Moorpark one score in the 86th minute, to end the match at 3-1. Overall, COC outshot the Raiders 16-11, including three from Talamantez, Sayre and Casey Wesley. Goalie Katherine Koury had six saves in the game. COC will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25, as they host Santa Monica in its first conference game of the season at 2 p.m.

Freshman Alexandra Leon scored her first two collegiates goals of her career and the Cougars beat Cosumnes River 3-0 in a non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon. COC improves to 5-0-1 on the season, with just one more non-conference game left in the season. COC got started in the seventh minute of the match on a Jessica Weber goal. COC's following score game in the 33rd minute on Leon's first score of the year. The Cougars carried the momentum over to the second half and sealed the contest in the 47th minute with another Leon goal. Canyons outshot Cosumnes River 15-2 and held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-0. Goalie Katherine Koury was in goal for the Cougars, helping notch the team's third shutout. COC will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, as they host Moopark College at 7:30 p.m. in Cougar Stadium.

COC took a 1-0 lead on a cross from Elvia Contreras who found Stacey Atwater in the 22nd minute. In the 50th minute, Jessica Heade made it 2-0 Cougars with a bullet from 20 yards out that went sailing over the Ventura goalie. Three minutes later, Katie Colletta added another goal, with an assist from Sarah Sager. COC allowed one goal in the 76th minute, a penalty kick by Ventura's Wells. Katherin Koury played 90 minutes in goal for COC . The Cougars outshot the Pirates 11-4.
