Program Summary:
College of the Canyons in partnership with Boston Reed College is now offering a training opportunity for an exciting new career as an Electronic Health Records (EHR) System Technologist. By 2014 electronic health records must be in use by healthcare providers. Employment of EHRST professionals by physicians and healthcare provider offices, EMR vendors and government organizations is expected to grow 20% by 2018. To meet this demand and fulfill new federal requirements, professionals must be trained to assist healthcare providers to choose, implement, train and maintain EHR systems. In this program you will learn the essential components of the EHR and health information exchange essentials; system selection and implementation; project management and fundamentals of change including factors.
This program is offered entirely online, with weekly assignments and a weekly instructor-led virtual class. The course covers 216 hours of instruction over 18 week.
Course Fee: $3,600 included all workbooks, online course access, and certificate of completion. Payment must be made in full at time of registration.
