***As with all credible Certified Food Manager courses in CA, all students/candidates wishing to take the exam are expected to familiarize themselves with or already be familiar with food safety concepts prior to attending class to best prepare for success on the exam***
The Certified Food Manager requirement is mandated by California State law for all retail food operations (restaurants, cafes, markets, mobile carts, etc.), and is enforced by local health departments. Each one-day class prepares you to take the examination needed to certify or recertify you as a licensed food handler.
The exam for this course is administered during the last two hours of class through an ANSI, (American National Standards Institute), accredited food protection manager certification organization. The exam and corresponding certificate is accepted by all regulatory agencies and organizational requirements (except Clark County Nevada). The of $30 may be paid online using a credit card at the start of the exam.
Numerous sources of food handler information are available. A study guide developed specifically for this class pay be purchased directly from the course instructor Gevork Kazanchyan; it may be made available for immediate printing/download (purchased for $15) via request through the instructor.
