Health and Safety classes are designed to promote the health, well-being and safety of individuals, families, and the community.
Current offerings include Certified Food Handler training, for those working in the food service industry, this course will meet the state requirement to become certified or recertified as a licensed food handler.
Pharmacy Technician and Optometric Technician training are available through Boston Reed College to help train for a new health care career in less than 7 months.
The Healthcare Fire & Safety course is designed for healthcare staff who may be confronted with an unexpected emergency involving environments found in major hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, retirement homes and clinics. Students successfully completing this one day course will be issued a Fire & Safety card which is valid for 4 years and meets requirements of the Los Angeles City Fire Department's Hospital Fire and Life Safety Program.
Courses in development include stress management, body-mind wellness, and exercise.
