Counseling
You’ve completed online orientation and your assessment tests. You
have a registration date, but before you register for your classes you
really should meet with a counselor. At the end of the session you will have
planned out your classes and earned ½ unit college credit!
The new student advisement sessions are hands-on, practical workshops
set in a computer lab (NOT HELD IN THE COUNSELING
OFFICE -Please check your confirmation e-mail for your workshop location.). By the time you finish your two hour session you will have:
- clarified your educational goals
- practiced how to navigate the Schedule of Classes online
- learned how to balance your classes and manage your time
- worked out a primary and alternative semester class schedule
- received a COC
student educational planner and other valuable materials to introduce you to
the vast resources of the college!
In the hour following each advisement session, student Cougar Mentors from the Freshman
Resource Center will invite you to:
-
Meet our faculty and get the inside story on their classes
