You’ve completed online orientation and your assessment tests. You
have a registration date, but before you register for your classes you
really should meet with a counselor. Counselors are offering
advising sessions during July and August. At the end of the session you will have
planned out your classes and earned ˝ unit college credit!
The new student advisement sessions are hands-on, practical workshops
set in a computer lab. By the time you finish a session you will have:
- clarified your educational goals
- practiced how to navigate the Schedule of Classes online
- learned how to balance your classes and manage your time, and
- worked out a primary and alternative semester class schedule.
You will also receive a COC student educational planner, other
valuable materials to introduce you to the vast resources of the
college! Did we mention that you
will earn ˝ unit college credit? The workshops have limited space so
reserve your seat soon! (Workshops will be made
available for sign-up 2 to 3 weeks prior to the workshop date.)

- Take a tour of the campus and find out where your classrooms and labs
are located
- Meet the faculty and get the inside story on their classes
