Assignment #4 - Workplace Project(s)

Learning Outcome: By completing this assignment, the student/employee will be able to identify and complete workplace objectives by utilizing a business model similar to Management by Objectives. This requires a written agreement between a supervisor and employee, to accomplish measurable on-the-job objectives by completing work-based projects involving problem solving and the application of academic theory, skills and knowledge while undertaking new or expanded workplace responsibilities.

Workplace projects are to be developed by utilizing the Management by Objectives Process within two weeks of the and supervisor are to identify workplace project(s) that reflects new or expanded job related responsibilities. The focus of the Workplace Project(s) should involve:

The supervisor and student are to identify workplace project(s) that reflects new or expanded job related responsibilities. The focus of the Workplace Project(s) should involve one of the following approaches:

  • achieving organizational / business objectives
  • improving workplace efficiency / productivity
  • increasing revenue
  • decreasing costs
  • solving problems
  • conducting research
  • developing new skills
  • cross-training
  • improving safety
  • creating and implementing new ideas

How can you contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives and improve your performance?

    Schedule your faculty Advisor Meeting with CWEE faculty within 2 weeks of your CWEE orientation to submit written Workplace Project Agreement Forms and receive approval before beginning your Workplace projects. No advisor meeting results in a failing grade in the CWEE course.
Upon completion of each of your workplace project(s) you will need to write a 1-2 page paper and include the following:

  • Your name
  • Date
  • Assignment # (Example #4-1, #4-2)
  • Describe, discuss and explain each project by answering the following questions:
    • What was the objective/goal?
    • Was the objective/goal accomplished?
    • How was it accomplished?
    • What was the result/outcome?
    • Was there an improvement?
Papers must be typed, double-spaced and have 12 point font. You may include photos, videos, spreadsheets or any other supplemental materials that will fit within a notebook.

Attach the white copy of Workplace Project Agreement form(s) rated, signed and dated by your supervisor (step 6) to your 1-2 page paper. Employer evaluation below 90% WILL result in a point deduction. No employer evaluation of workplace projects = FAIL assignment.


CWEE faculty will make an appointment for a site visit with your supervisor while you are in the program, to discuss your educational growth on the job and to evaluate your progress on Workplace Project(s). Please make your supervisor aware of this program requirement; however, we will contact them to arrange the meeting, and it does not affect your grade.
