Students Programs & Services:
The High Tech Center
Located in Seco Hall, room 103, the High Tech Center Lab offers a wide
variety of assistive technology to DSP&S students. Assistive
Technology refers to the electronic means we are able to
accommodate people with disabilities. Some of the adaptive
software we currently provide in our lab is:
Dragon Naturally Speaking- a speech recognition program
JAWS- a screen reading software program
Kurzweil 1000 and 3000- programs that allow the user to scan
and read printed materials
ZoomText- a screen magnification program
Inspiration - mind mapping program
Write: OutLoud - typing program that speaks and it types
Co:Writer: Word prediction software program
The High Tech Center Lab also has ergonomic hardware such as
wave keyboards, Trackball mice, wrist rests, document holders, and
large screen monitors available.
