 STUDENT RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES (You must read and check each item below)

I acknowledge that I am currently enrolled at College of the Canyons. I am a regular college student and currently enrolled in at least one of the classes on the TRiP Textbook Availability List.

TRiP PROCESSING – This program operates on a first-come, first-serve basis and has two tiers. Tier I is available two weeks prior to the term. Tier II is available only after the first day of the term to both TIER I and TIER II students, with priority given to TIER I students.

TIER I – Students must be eligible for the Board of Governors Enrollment Fee Waiver (BOGW) and have a minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average.

TIER II – Students must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 units), have a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average, and have a valid ASG student ID card.
 

I understand that if I am eligible for TRiP textbook(s) that I will be notified by email and the TRiP textbooks reserved for me will be listed.
  • I understand that I must print and take a copy of my TRiP email notification to the Student Business Office (VALENCIA CAMPUS - Administration Building, Room 101 or CANYON COUNTRY CAMPUS Quad 1-C) to pay the TRiP textbook rental fees.
  • I understand that I will receive a second email after verification of my paid TRiP rental fees. The second email will inform me of the date, time and location that my TRiP textbooks will be available for pick-up. I will be required to show a photo ID to pick-up my TRiP textbooks.
I understand that if I am not eligible, or TRiP textbooks are no longer available for my classes, that I will be notified by email.
I understand that the TRiP textbooks are rented to me for 25% of the new book price at the COC Bookstore, as determined by the new book price plus sales tax.
I understand that I cannot sell my TRiP textbook(s) or return TRiP textbooks to the COC Bookstore for buy-back. All TRiP books are the property of the Santa Clarita Community College District.
I understand that I must return all TRiP textbooks in good condition. This means that only highlighting is allowed, no other writing or modifications in textbooks. Workbooks may be written in and do not need to be returned.
I acknowledge that if my TRiP textbook(s) are not returned in “good condition” that I will be required to purchase the book for 100% of the new book price plus sales tax, minus any rental fee(s) already paid.
I understand that I must return all TRiP textbook(s) to the Library, 1st Floor Circulation Desk at the Valencia Campus only on or before the last day of the term for which my TRiP textbooks were issued.
I understand that any TRiP textbooks not returned by the last day of the term for which my TRiP textbooks were issued will result in an administrative HOLD being placed on my student record. I understand and agree that the HOLD will require payment for the TRiP textbooks issued to me. This HOLD will prevent any future class registration and/or release of official transcripts from College of the Canyons.
