Cost Estimates

FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DURING ONE ACADEMIC YEAR

 

Minimum yearly tuition cost: $4608.00

Enrolling with a minimum of 12 units per semester (24 units each academic year) is a requirement for international students.   At College of the Canyons international students are considered non-resident students therefore they must pay tuition and enrollment fees consistent with the school boards policy regarding non-resident fees.

Tuition fees are paid within a week of registration for classes at the beginning of each semester. College of the Canyons does not collect any deposits or application fees.

Other fees that may be added at the time tuition is paid.

Annual Student Center Fee 10.00 maximum
*Audit Fee (Paid in Community Extension office) 15.00 per unit
*Enrollment Certification (1st two free)  1.00 per request
*Credit by Examination Fee 29.00 per unit
Health Fee  (Fall & Spring) 14.00 per semester
Health Fee ( Winter & Summer) 11.00 per session
* Official Transcript (first two free)  5.00 per transcript
* Official Transcript (24-hour rush processing)  8.00 per transcript
* Parking Fee ( Fall & Spring) 40.00 per semester
*Parking Fee (Summer) (Winter is free ) 20.00 per semester
*Parking Fee (Motorcycles) (Winter is free) 15.00 per semester/session
*Refund Fee (once classes begin) 10.00 per semester
Student Support Fee  9.00 per term
Student Representation Fee  1.00 per term

*These fees will be paid as they are incurred and are not mandatory.

Books and Supplies: $400.00 to $600.00

Living costs differ depending on the arrangements students have made.
We estimate monthly costs for living as follows:

Room rent for the length of the academic year (currently 9 months): $4500.00

Average cost is $500.00/ room per month but it can be higher if home stay service companies are hired or it could be lower if the student lives with relatives

Food for the length of the academic year (currently 9 months): $1800.00

Average cost is $200.00 per month

Public transportation for the length of the academic year (currently 9 months): $350
Owning a car costs increasingly more

Estimated total of tuition and living expenses for 1 academic year: approx. $11,900.00


In addition:

Health Insurance costs for group insurance per year: $ 800.00

International students attending College of the Canyons are required to have health insurance coverage during the time school is in session. International students may obtain valid insurance from their home country instead of purchasing group insurance. They may also obtain coverage from US providers.

The current cost for purchasing insurance through the Student Insurance Agency is on average $65.00/month for sickness and accident coverage.
