Accessible through the College of the Canyons Web site , the online catalog will indicate what the Library owns and where the items are located in the collection. To find resources on psychology you may want to start by doing a subject search. This will give you link to a list of more than 90 titles that in the Library’s collection. You also have the option of selecting from over sixty “See also” references that refer you to subjects related to psychology such as child psychology, and personality.
The catalog will indicate the call number of the item, information on the type of material it is (i.e. book, video recording, pamphlet), and information on the item’s availability.

ProQuest Direct is a database consisting of citations, abstracts and in many cases full-text articles from over ten thousand publications, including magazines, journals and newspapers. The articles may be printed out, downloaded or emailed . You may want to use the Psychology Journals module, which will allow you to retrieve citations. abstracts and full-text articles from over 500 journals. To best utilize this module, select the Advanced menu folder. Once on this page click on the "Database" pull-down menu at the bottom of the page and select Psychology- ProQuest Psychology Journals:
An example of an advanced search is seen below. Note that an "OR" search has been conducted, meaning that articles will be retrieved concerning bipolar disorder OR manic depression:
Once you type in the search parameters, the search my be submitted by clicking on the Search button. The results that are retrieved may be similar to an example seen below:
What is seen above are the brief citations. To see the complete article either click on the title of the article or click on the link that reads "Full text" or Full Text - PDF". To keep track of and email your results, you can click on the check box next to the article title. ProQuest allows for many different options in refining your searches. Issues and Controversies is a database that focuses on information regarding heavily debated contemporary political and social issues. Each topic is treated in an unbiased manner that presents different sides of the issue at hand. This database may help you find very valuable statistics and historical background on your topic.
