The California Chemistry Diagnostic Test (CCDT) is a placement test for students who plan on enrolling in Chemistry 201, the first of the general chemistry courses sequence. A passing score allows a student to enroll in Chemistry 201. Students who do not pass the CCDT must take Chemistry 151.  A test sample of the CCDT is included here

The CCDT is a multiple-choice test and you are given 50 minutes to complete it. In order to take the test, you must have an application on file with the Admissions Office. The test is administered on the Valencia Campus only. The CCDT is administered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only, 9AM to 12 Noon.  You must bring a picture ID to the Assessment Center. You will be provided with a pencil, scrap paper, and a calculator.

Your results will be e-mailed to you on the Friday following your test.

You can take the CCDT once every 180 days, as long as you have not already completed Chemistry 151. College of the Canyons does not accept CCDT scores from other schools.
