Ron Dreiling

Ron, an English Professor at College of the Canyons, teaches primarily in the PACE Program.   Upon his arrival in the Santa Clarita Valley six years ago, he began teaching primarily for the PACE Program.  Prior to this, he taught community college classes in Austin, Texas, and Hutchinson, Kansas.

Ron’s professional goals center on expanding education opportunities by helping create a variety of paths into the college classroom.  The Distance Learning Program and programs such a PACE and Weekend College offer important alternatives to the traditional college experience.  These kinds of programs are of special importance to returning students whose educational needs are as diverse as the students themselves.

Ron received his B.A. from Washburn University (Topeka, Kansas) and his M.A. from the University of Kansas.  He recently earned an Online Teaching Certificate from CSU East Bay.  Ron’s hobbies include sailing, trail running, and exploring California’s State and National Parks.  Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
