January 20, 2009 University Center to Hold Open House What: University Center Open House When: 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 Where: Interim University Center (Y-Building), College of the Canyons Valencia Campus. Park in lots # 13 and #14 accessed from Rockwell Canyon Road at University Center Drive. Parking is provided in these lots at no charge for this event. Contact: (661) 362-5474 or universitycenter@canyons.edu Why: Since opening in 2002, the college’s Interim University Center has provided the community with access to higher education through upper division and graduate level programs offered by a variety of partner universities. This event is an open house event for prospective students and interested community members to talk with university representatives, learn about financial aid programs, meet with academic counselors and fill out admissions applications. While the Interim Center has already served thousands of students, those who enroll in University Center programs in 2009 will be among the first to utilize the new Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center facility. Located on the southern boundary of the Valencia Campus, the 110,000 square foot University Center will house up to 10 partner institutions and offer more than 50 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees and credential programs. Current partner institutions include UCLA, Chapman University, University of La Verne, National University, California State University(CSU) Bakersfield and CSU Northridge. |
