College Does Not Endorse Door-to-Door Solicitation
FCollege of the Canyons officials have received reports from some local residents that solicitors, representing themselves as COC students, have been going door-to-door in Santa Clarita Valley neighborhoods allegedly selling magazine subscriptions or ads for Los Angeles newspapers.
The latest reports have come from the Saugus area.
College of the Canyons wants community members to know that it discourages its students from going door-to-door for any reason. Residents need to know that these activities are not related to a COC program and these people are not endorsed by the college in any way.
Activities very similar to these have occurred in the Santa Clarita Valley over the last several years -- the latest occurring in September of 2009.
