Eric Harnish, special assistant to the chancellor, (661) 362-3400 Why: State Assemblyman Cameron Smyth will visit the College of the Canyons Canyon Country campus for the first time and will tour the facilities with Dr. Dena Maloney, founding dean of the campus, along with additional College of the Canyons staff. Smyth will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, see how the infrastructure of the 70-acre campus has developed, learn about future plans for the campus and meet with campus staff. The Canyon Country Campus serves between 3,500 to 4,000 students each semester. The first classes met on the campus in August 2007.
